About Drift
A new way to Experience the ocean
The ocean has always had a unique effect on the human body.
Breathing slows. The mind becomes quieter. Tension disappears.

For thousands of years, humans have been drawn to water for its calming and restorative effects. Yet most people only experience the ocean from the surface. Drift was created to change that.
Not through performance or extreme sports — but through a simple, accessible approach that allows anyone to discover the underwater world naturally.

Just a few meters below the surface, everything changes.
A Simpler Path to the Ocean
Most ocean activities fall into two categories
  • Easy. But limited.
    You stay at the surface.

  • Offers depth but requires heavy equipment, long preparation, and technical training

  • While beautiful, is often perceived as demanding and performance-driven

With the right breathing and relaxation techniques, most people can naturally reach 10 meters of depth and hold their breath calmly — often far beyond what they believed possible.

For many participants, this moment becomes a powerful discovery.

A reminder that the body is capable of far more than we imagine when we learn to relax instead of forcing.

Learning to Stay Calm Under Pressure
The water teaches something that is difficult to learn elsewhere. If tension appears, the dive becomes harder. If the mind becomes calm, everything becomes easier. This simple principle mirrors many situations in life and leadership. Learning to control breathing, remain relaxed under pressure, and trust the process develops skills that extend far beyond the ocean.
Description
Participants often describe Drift as one of the rare experiences where personal awareness, physical experience, and emotional regulation come together naturally.
More than an Activity
Drift is not a sport. It is a practice that combines:
breathing awareness, emotional regulation, water comfort, ocean discovery

Participants learn how to slow their breathing, relax their body, and move through the water with minimal effort. The result is often surprising.

People discover that they can stay underwater calmly, dive deeper than expected, and experience a state of quiet focus rarely felt in everyday life.

This moment creates something powerful:

self-confidence.

Confidence built through experience.
Akim Adhari
The Founder Drift.Wiki
Drift was created by Akim, an ocean explorer and educator who has spent more than two decades teaching people how to interact with the underwater world.Throughout his career, he contributed to the development and teaching of freediving education with major international organisations including: PADI Freediving, SSI Freediving, RAID Freediving, Molchanovs

Over the years, he has trained more than 1,500 instructors and over 5,000 students worldwide, helping to shape the global freediving education community. Teaching thousands of students revealed an important insight. While freediving is powerful, many people see it as technical or extreme. Yet the ocean itself is naturally calming and intuitive.
Drift was created to make this experience simpler, more accessible, and more natural.

Drift was created to make this experience simpler, more accessible, and more natural.
A shared Experience
One of the most powerful aspects of Drift is the experience shared with others. Couples rediscover connection through a calm and immersive experience. Friends learn together and support each other underwater.
Teams develop trust and communication through a unique environment where titles disappear and people reconnect as individuals.

The ocean creates a space where relationships deepen naturally.

When people experience the underwater world directly, something shifts. The ocean is no longer just a view from a terrace. It becomes a living environment.

Participants often leave the experience with a new awareness of the importance of protecting marine ecosystems. Because when you discover the ocean from within, you see it differently.

Drift for Hotels and Resorts
For hotels located by the sea, the ocean is often the most powerful asset they have. Yet most guests experience it only from the surface. Drift allows hotels to offer a unique experience that transforms the relationship between guests and the ocean.

A simple setup — mask, fins, snorkel, and buoy — is enough to introduce guests to a deeper and more meaningful exploration of the sea. The experience is calm, safe, and accessible to a wide audience. It becomes a memorable highlight of their stay.
Drift Institute

Beyond the experience itself, Drift is also developing a training approach focused on:

breathing mastery, emotional regulation,

awareness training, personal development

These methods are now being adapted for leadership development, high-potential training, and team experiences. Because the ability to remain calm, focused, and aware under pressure is becoming one of the most valuable skills in today’s world.

The beginning of a journey
What begins as a simple discovery of the underwater world often becomes something more.
For some, it becomes a new form of training.
For others, it becomes a way to travel and explore oceans around the world.

But it always starts the same way. A first dive. A slow breath.
And the realization that sometimes, going deeper allows us to rise higher.
